Shipping Overview:

Smith Island, Maryland, is a remote fishing village of only 250 people, located approximately 10 miles from the mainland, and accessible only by ferry. Every Smith Island Baking Co. product is made and packaged on the island, sent across via ferry, and shipped via FedEx directly to your door.

Time in Transit:

At the time of your purchase, you will be offered several FedEx shipping methods. The greatest time in transit will be 2-Days, per the map below. Please choose the shipping method which best suits your needs.

Email Notification:

Upon placing your order, you will receive several notifications regarding your shipment, including status updates, and shipping notifications. Should you still have questions or should you require further assistance, please contact us directly.

Standard Shipping:

Smith Island Baking Co. products are frozen after baking to ensure freshness, and shipped with dry ice to protect them in transit. Once your package arrives, simply follow the best care instructions on your product, and enjoy.

Shipping Schedule:

Every morning at 7:00 a.m., Smith Island Baking Co. products are sent off the island on the mailboat. Orders received after the departure of the mailboat will have to be shipped the next business day. Most orders will be shipped in 1-2 business days. As always, if your order is time sensitive, or if you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

FedEx Restrictions and Post Office Boxes:

FedEx does not pick up packages on Saturdays or Sundays, so we only ship our products Monday through Friday for delivery Tuesday through Saturday. To ensure freshness, we will not ship cakes to be delivered on Mondays as it would require our cakes to spend an extra day in transit. At this time, FedEx does not deliver to Post Office Boxes.
